The Complete List & Map of Nashville Breweries

Since we both live in the Nashville area, we decided to create this list so that people can see the most up to date list of breweries in the Nashville area. This is for me as well as everyone else, since the brewery landscape changes here so frequently, and even I forget about some of them.

We want this to be the most complete and current brewery list of the Nashville Area, that you’ll find on the internet. (we’re defining the “Nashville Area” as approximately within 30 miles of Nashville) We plan to keep this list updated constantly as we hear of new openings, expansions, renovations, closings and other news. We’ve included a map that shows the location of each in and around Nashville for those that may want to plan a brewery trip or just look to see if there is a brewery close by.

These are listed in alphabetical order and not by any other ranking. I have included brewery taprooms that are in the Nashville Airport, as they would be a place to drink locally brewed beer, as you’re coming into or leaving Nashville. These lists do not take into account places like Twin Peaks and Big Machine as they have beer labeled with their names on them, but they don’t actually make any of their own. Monday Night Brewing also falls into that same category as they brew in GA and not in Nashville, but their location certainly looks and feels like a brewery and it would be a shame to leave them off the list.

10-22-23 – I’m adding to the “Breweries Coming Soon” list below, because there are 2 other breweries that need to be on here. Dark Shadow Brewing Company and Dog Road Brewery. The reason they weren’t on this list previously is because neither have a brick-and-mortar location yet, but they will at some point. I was aware of Dark Shadow as I’ve seen them at the Preds Beer Fest in 2022 and had some of their beers. I also just saw them at The Tennessee Beer, Wine and Shine Festival and this is where I discovered Dog Road Brewery. Although you can’t visit their breweries just yet, look for them at beer fests and other locations so you can try their beers. Check out their websites for more information.

11-29-23 – Frequency 528 Brewing Company just came across my radar and I wanted to get them on the list below. I don’t know much about them yet other than they are working on opening a brewery in Nashville and they have been at local beer fests with their beer. I’m in the process of gathering more info on them so I can post on here. Stay tuned.

I did hear back from them, and they said they’re not focusing on the brewery side currently, I’ll keep them on this list for a little while longer.

3-14-24 – I’m adding House of Dogs Brewing Company to the “Breweries Coming Soon” list below, so that they will stay on our radar and we can give updates as we get them. I have reached out to them directly via IG DM. They don’t have a brick-and-mortar place yet, but I know they are working on it.

I also deleted Pontoon from the list as their brewery in GA is closing and the taproom at Bridgestone Arena is closed also – at least as far as serving Pontoon.

Breweries Currently Open in the Nashville Area

Breweries Currently Open Just Outside of the Nashville Area

I debated on whether or not to add these breweries to the Nashville Area list and ultimately didn’t because they are a bit further out and they take a bit more planning in getting to and from the Nashville area. With that being said, they are close enough to Nashville where you can get to them and back in the same day. If we hadn’t made the brewery trips to the Cookeville / Sparta, TN area a couple of times, I probably wouldn’t have created this list. The Clarksville area breweries I’m a little bit less confident about, since I’ve never been to any of them, but we’ll be as accurate as we can be and may have to update some of this information as we go.

Breweries Coming Soon (Maybe)

• Back Bone BrewWorks – Tullahoma, TN. Don’t know much about these guys yet but will learn more. They will be serving their beer at the Shakespeare Beer Festival in Murfreesboro, TN on May 3rd. We heard from a friend that they want to open a brewery. I will update when I know more.
• Braxton Brewing Company – We’ve been hearing about Braxton coming to Nashville since 2017 and I don’t see much more information about it. I have reached out to them for an update. They are coming on our Brewery Underground Podcast on 4/18/24 and we will ask them about this.
• Crazy Gnome Brewery – 1005 W. Kirkland Ave, Nashville, TN 37216. This will be a new taproom and brewery in East Nashville. Work will not even start working on this location until late 2024. The space will be large enough for them to start canning. It’s not known yet what will happen to the current brewery.
• Dark Shadow Brewing Company – Nashville, TN. Location TBD. Home Brewers. They are working on getting a brick-and-mortar place, so hopefully they can be added to the “Breweries Currently Open” list above soon.
• Dog Road Brewery – Murfreesboro, TN. Location TBD. Home Brewers. They are working on getting a brick-and-mortar place, so hopefully they can be added to the “Breweries Currently Open” list above soon.
• Frequency 528 Brewing Company Nashville, TN. Location TBD. Home Brewers. I recently reached out to them, but they are not really focusing on beer currently.
• Good People Brewing Company – 908 Meridian St, Nashville, TN 37207. The last information I saw on this was in an article from October 2023 which you can read here: Good People Article and was supposed to open in late 2023. That obviously hasn’t happened yet, and I have reached out to them for an update. This location was the historic McGavock House in East Nashville.
• Harding House Brewing Company – 2601 Nolensville Pike, Nashville, TN 37211. I just read that Harding House will move to a new location in the Woodbine neighborhood at 2601 Nolensville Pike, Nashville, TN 37211 from their original location of 904 51st Ave N, Nashville, TN 37209. They’re hoping to be open in the Fall of 2024. They are combining with Primitive Coffee to create a taproom and coffee shop.
• House of Dogs Brewing Company – Nashville, TN. Home Brewers. No Brick-and-mortar place yet but they will soon, so hopefully they can be added to the “Breweries Currently Open” list above soon.
• Lazy Sunday Brewing Company – Murfreesboro, TN. I recently just came across this brewery as they are participating in the Shakespeare Beer Festival in Murfreesboro, TN. Their Facebook page says they are “a local home brewing project with aspirations of opening a brewery.” We reached out to them on the social media to get some more info about them.
• Rock ‘N Dough Pizza & Brewery – A new location should be opening in Gallatin, TN in January 2025.

Recently Closed Breweries

The reason we wanted to list breweries that have recently closed – is in case you were still looking for that particular place – you could see the current status. We have breweries listed that we’ve visited on our Map of Breweries We’ve Visited, that have been closed for much longer, but wanted this post to be different from that by not listing every single one.

• Asgard Brewing Company 104 E. 5th St, Columbia, TN 38401. Closed August 2024.
• Bold Patriot Brewing Company – The company has rebranded as Bassline Brewing Company (see ‘Breweries Currently Open in the Nashville Area’ list above), so the building isn’t going away, but it has been renovated and the name changed. It’s located at 410 39th Ave N. Nashville, TN 37209. They are adding bar space for food and additional customer seating. • Big Trouble Brewing Company 213 W. Main St, Gallatin, TN 37066. Closed in August 2024.
• Common Law Brewing Company – 4825 Main St, #4, Spring Hill, TN 37174. I read today (2/27/24) that they are not re-opening their doors. I will leave on the list above for a little while but ultimately this will be the only list you will find them on.
• Half Batch Brewing – The 393 E Main St #6a, Hendersonville, TN 37075 location is now closed because they have moved to a new location at 154 Bonita Parkway, Hendersonville, TN 37075.
• Harding House Brewing Company – 904 51st Ave N, Nashville, TN 37209. They are pouring their last beer at this location on March 2, 2024. They’ve been in business for 5 years and it’s a shame they won’t be around, although we hope to see them again somewhere down the road. I will leave them on the list above for a little while. I just read that Harding House will move to a new location in the Woodbine neighborhood at 2601 Nolensville Pike, Nashville, TN 37211. The ownership has been downsized to one person and he is going to contract brew and hopefully open a taproom.
• Hix Farms Brewery – 54 S. Cedar Ave, Cookeville, TN 38501. Looks like they’ve been closed since March of 2023 due to the landlord not wanting to renew their lease.
• Honky Tonk Brewing Company – I’m not sure how long they’ve been closed at 240 Cumberland Bend, Nashville, TN 37228, but I had a hard time determining if they were in business at all, so I rode by their old location and the building was empty. I’m listing it for the time being so that nobody else has to wonder if they are in business or not. UPDATE: This one is a bit of a wild card in that, although their original location was closed, they are owned now by R.S. Lipman Brewing Company at 5901 California Ave, suite 105, Nashville, TN 37209 and they are still continuing to brew some of their beer along with Little Harpeth, Hap & Harry’s and Turtle Anarchy. I’ve added them back to the “Breweries Currently Open in Nashville” list above, since they are brewed like the aforementioned brands at the same location, but you can’t actually visit the brewery.
• Huckleberry Brewing Company – 600A Frazier Dr suite 135, Franklin, TN 37067. Looks like they closed in September of 2023. Now it makes sense as to why their website wasn’t working. This building might be cursed for breweries.
• Kings Bluff Brewery – 128 University Ave, Clarksville, TN 37040. They just closed at the beginning of September 2023.
• Marrow Bone Creek Brewing Company – 240 S. Main St, Ashland City, TN 37015. Closed on 11/18/23.
• Panther Creek Brews 714 W Main St, Murfreesboro, TN 37129. Closed October 5th, 2024.
• Pontoon Brewing – Bridgestone Arena – 501 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37203. They were on the list because they were a brewery but just didn’t brew here (just like Monday Night Brewing). They just had a taproom / bar in Bridgestone Arena. I removed them from the list above as they don’t have a location in the Nashville area but they do have their original taproom open in Sandy Springs, GA.
• Rock ‘N Dough Pizza & Brewery – The Nations 1105 51st Ave N., Nashville, TN 37209. This location just closed but they are looking at opening a new location in Gallatin, TN.
• Tennessee Valley Brewing Company 125 Franklin St, Clarksville, TN 37040. Closed 2023.

Honorable Mentions

I created this space to put places that I didn’t quite know what to do with but are good to drink beer at, have good beer selections or align very closely with a brewery. These are made up of taprooms, brewpubs, taverns, places that may be owned by a brewery, etc. There are no particular criteria to these but just what I deem to be on here. I’d love to hear your comments about other places that might make this list.

12 South Taproom and Grill – 2318 12th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37204. Very good beer selection and good food. Not a big place but they have been around awhile and are in a cool part of town.

51 North Taproom – 704 51st Ave North, Nashville, TN 37209. They’ve got a great beer selection on draft and in bottles and cans. They are also in a good part of town for other breweries like Fat Bottom, Harding House, Bassline and Bearded Iris. They have a full menu of food too that is very good.

Bavarian Bierhaus – 121 Opry Mills Dr, suite 315, Nashville, TN 37214. This is connected to the Opry Mills Mall and can be accessed from the outside. It’s a cool spot with several German beers and they have some with their name on them, but they don’t brew anything, somebody else is making the beer for them – which is fine – just not a brewery. They do have a pretty vast beer selection though. I’d recommend this place as they have a large German food menu, and the venue is very big.

Brewhouse South – 1855 Galleria Blvd, Franklin, TN 37067. Their beer selection is excellent and are the best one of all of the Brewhouses. I’m not going to list the rest of the locations since this one is superior and the others by themselves wouldn’t make this list. Their bourbon selection and pricing are good too. They have a full menu of food as well.

The Casual Pint – 427 Sam Ridley Parkway W, Smyrna, TN 37167. Very cool spot and literally the best place to drink beer in Smyrna. (Buffalo Wild Wings will not make this list). They have a lot of beer selections, and they sell a lot to go as well. The vibe is always very cool and a local’s hangout. They have some food as well.

City Tap House – 204 3rd Ave South, Nashville, TN 37201. They have a lot of beers on draft and it’s good for people who are hanging out downtown and want a good local craft beer selection. I’ve only been once and it’s fine but they really won’t have anything new for me, so I don’t have much desire to go back but they do have food as well.

Deep South Growlers – Lenox Village – 6900 Lenox Village Dr, Ste 6, Nashville, TN 37211. Great place for craft beer with the selection they have as well as the environment and excellent staff. Deep South Growlers – Murfreesboro – 1602 W. Northfield Blvd, Murfreesboro, TN 37129. Since both locations are owned by the same people, my comments are the same as Lenox Village above but just know that both locations are unique and excellent in their own ways. Homegrown Taproom & Kitchen – 2720 Old Lebanon Rd, Nashville, TN 37214. They have 24 taps with great variety in styles including meads, ciders and non-alcoholic beers. They also have a pretty full menu. I’ve recently been here for a couple of beers on my way to Tennfold Brewing and they have a very good beer selection, plus it feels like a neighborhood kind of place as I saw several people drinking beer from their mugs that are part of their mug club.

Hops & Crafts – 319 12th Ave South, Nashville, TN 37203. In the Gulch and walkable to a lot of things including Hi-Wire Brewing, Marble Fox Brewing Co. and Peg Leg Porker. A small tap room but with outside seating that has a good beer selection.

Jack Brown’s Beer and Burger Joint – They have 3 locations – 2 in Nashville and 1 in Murfreesboro. All (3) addresses are listed on their website. They have great burgers, among other food, but they surprisingly have a really good beer selection and some you won’t find anywhere else in town. I need to visit them more often as I know how good their beer selection is and could certainly add a lot of new beers to my list.

Mr. Brews Taphouse – 5525 Franklin Rd, Murfreesboro, TN 37128. Visited for the 1st time on March 2, 2024, and it was great. They had over 50 beers on tap and the food was fantastic.

The Picnic Tap – 900 Rosa L Parks Blvd, Nashville, TN 37208. This is inside the Farmer’s Market. Great current selection of beer.

Teddy’s Tavern – 104 Rep. John Lewis Way S, Nashville, TN 37203. This is owned by Fat Bottom Brewing Co., which is the only reason I even put on this list but it looks more like a Tavern (hence the name) than a brewery taproom. I haven’t visited it yet but will soon and I may re-evaluate after I do.
