Chris Dolan, who is the Head Brewer at Bassline Brewing Company, was our very first guest on our podcast last week and it went better than we could have imagined. Chris is interesting, informative, knowledgeable and an all-around great interview.
Chris has plenty of experience in brewing beer and cider. He actually started out by home brewing after his mom showed him his grandfather’s last beer that he had brewed, and realized he wanted to brew beer and one day open a brewery. He started his brewing career by apprenticing at Great South Bay Brewery and Long Ireland Beer Company in Long Island, NY while he was working full time for ESPN and FoxNews. He then went on to be the Head Brewer at Blue Point Brewing Company and Brickhouse Brewery and Restaurant.
In 2020, Chris moved to Nashville to become the Head Brewer at TailGate Brewery and then went on to be the Head Cider Maker at Diskin Cider. Chris’s desire to own and open his own brewery led him to try to purchase the old Bold Patriot location, which the owners ended up not selling, but they rebranded into Bassline Brewing Company and ultimately led him to be the Head Brewer there.
Bassline Brewing has a great theme with a really large and nice space with plenty of seating inside the L&L Market building at 410 39th Ave N, Nashville, TN 37029. They have their own large patio that is dog friendly and are very close to having a full food menu served from their brand new added kitchen.
Chris drops new beers every Friday (maybe a little sooner if you’re in the know) and has 20 taps that always have 2 ciders and 2 seltzers for the non-beer drinkers.
I’m a big fan of Bassline Brewing and their beers and plan on getting back very soon to try the new beers they are releasing including a s’mores stout on 11/17/23.
Please check out their brewery and beer and follow them on social media @basslinebrews.
You can hear Chris talk in more detail about how he started in brewing, his inspirations and what Bassline Brewing Company is doing now as well as their plans for the future on our podcast below:
Cheers!
